Facebook really going to prepare the email service?

According to the TechCrunch site - facebook is rumored to be preparing for an email service called Titan Project, and the next will be a competition from Google's email product that is gmail. Facilities facebook email from this facility will have a POP / IMAP email and the user will be able to access email from Facebook from various types of software and mobile phone devices.
The Titan project will replace messaging facility that had been used in the Facebook account. Address to be used may not be much different from other webmail services such as: namaaccount@facebook.com. According to the latest news, there is no certainty when this facility will be officially announced to the public.

So far, I think webmail facility, one another and almost has a feature that does not look much different. Hopefully this project can be produce email service facilities is different than others webmail services.
